Life with Kimmy

I am a single mom, raising Kim has been a challenge. She is quite artistic. She loves art, to dance and act. It has been fun watching her grow, even though my money wallet has turned into a coin purse I am glad to see her pursuing her dreams! Hope you enjoy the blog.

Bebe in a Box

Bebe and Addie fight over the box that Ryan sent to Kim on Valentines Day! It is the most popular toy in the house at this time. Pooh has just started in on the fun now. They chase each other in and out of the box. When Addie was in the box and Bebe was outside the box sticking his paw in - Addie sprung out the box and pinned Bebe after he rolled about 3 times. She jumped out of the box with such force, no one was expecting it!

Valentines Day 2007

Dad took his 4 valentine girls to lunch at Ripples by the River. A package had arrived right before we left and it was addressed to Kim. Now this wasn't just any package, it was BIG! We brought the BIG box to Kim who met us at the Restaurant. Kim has been helping out in the Costume Dept. at the Civic Theatre on her days off from Nordstroms. So after we ate, we opened the trunk of the car to reveal Kims Valentines Day BOX from her SWEETHEART Ryan. So here are the pictures that I captured with my Cell phone Camera!
P.S. BeBe and Addie fight over who gets to be in the BOX!

What does Love mean?

A group of people posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year-olds, "What does love mean?":

"When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore.
So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love."
Rebecca- age 8

"When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different.
You just know that your name is safe in their mouth"
Billy - age 4

"Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other."
Karl - age 5

"Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs."
Chrissy - age 6

"Love is what makes you smile when you're tired."
Terri - age 4

"Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK."
Danny - age 7

"Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more.
My Mommy and Daddy are like that. They look gross when they kiss"
Emily - age 8

"Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen"
Bobby - age 7

"If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate,"
Nikka - age 6
(we need a few million more Nikka's on this planet)

"Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday."
Noelle - age 7

"Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well."
Tommy - age 6

"During my piano recital, I was on a stage and I was scared. I looked at all the people watching me and saw my daddy waving and smiling.
He was the only one doing that. I wasn't scared anymore."
Cindy - age 8

"My mommy loves me more than anybody
You don't see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night."
Clare - age 6

"Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken."
Elaine-age 5

"Love is when Mommy sees Daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford."
Chris - age 7

"Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day."
Mary Ann - age 4

"I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones."
Lauren - age 4

"When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you."
Karen - age 7

"Love is when Mommy sees Daddy on the toilet and she doesn't think it's gross."
Mark - age 6

"You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget."
Jessica - age 8

And the final one -- Author and lecturer Leo Buscaglia once talked about a contest he was asked to judge.
The purpose of the contest was to find the most caring child.

The winner was a four year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife.
Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman's yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there.
When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy said,

"Nothing, I just helped him cry"

Catching up! October - November 2006

October Fashion Show with Jesse and Joe at Spokane Nordstroms

Kim and Designer David Kahn (David Kahn Jeans)

Abby was hit by a car, Sharon and Craig took her to the emergency room immediately. We met them there and she apparently had a small scrape and that was all. We think some angels must have been hard at work. Abby is doing fine.

Kim is back home from CA

Kim just got back

Kim and Ryan - going out to dinner

This is a great pic of Kim. We went out to dinner while we waited for Southwest Airlines to find Kims luggage. All went well, and by the time they got back out to the airport, her luggage was in. It came in on a different flight. Just a little frustrating.

Picking up my surfboard in Newport, Oregon!

Looking out the window of the Lighthouse in Newport, Oregon.

Aunt Sharon pointing to our damaged mirror.
There was a hit and run on the motorhome, the drivers side mirror was hanging by wires and banging along the side of the motorhome. Craig and I took off after them since we saw it happen, but we were inside a store. To make a long story short, the Newport police caught up with them and they said that they didn't know that their truck had hit us. Thank goodness, a witness who was following behind them got there license plate number and reported it to the police. If we hadn't caught up with them, my deductible would have been $500 to get it fixed.

Another pic of the damaged mirror that Craig pieced together with drift wood from the ocean. Standing below the mirror is Ralph on the Left, Craig on the right. Uncle Craig fixed it real good!

Craig and Ralph talking about my board. It was made in the 70's! It looked beautiful.

The Trip to get my Surfboard!

Hood River - Windsurfing

Hood River, Oregon

Mt. Hood at The Dalles, Oregon

While Kimberly had to work, the rest of the family took a quick RV trip over to the Oregon Coast to get my other surfboard.
It was being repaired and polished up by a good friend who lives in Newport, Oregon. He is from San Diego, a teacher and he makes his own surfboards. Ralph makes an awesome board with awesome designs. He specializes in Longboards, so far everyone who has ridden his boards are blown away. Since he has been a surfer for some years now, he has the knowledge to design the boards to match the level (capability) and style of the surfer . I know once he retires from teaching, he will have an excellent following of those looking for a custom surfboard.
